Just an idea for another forum for members - a rummage bin sort of thing for us to post of stuff that we have but don't need but would be willing to give or sell for a substantial discount to a fellow Gang member.
That way there'd be a record and things and if someone takes it you could just post that it got taken and by who or whatever.
I'm proposing this after trying out the freecycle program here in Madison and knowing that there's stuff we have lying around that we aren't in a rush to throw out or sell, but that I or Justus would be a lot happier giving to a Gang member it might help out.
Some examples:
Old computer gaming system that J had upgraded out of and eventually sold on craigslist, but talking to him afterwards he admitted he'd rather have sold it for cheaper to a Gang member to use.
We had some kitchen utensils we weren't using which I ended up freecycling, but I would rather that they went to a Gang member going to university or something who might have needed them.
We've got this lamp that we aren't using anymore, it's kind of pretty but isn't great at providing enough light for a large room. I was thinking of freecycling it but if someone needed a light maybe it'd be feasible to ship it in ultra-cheap shipping or something.
That sort of thing, I don't know if I'm the only one interested in something like this but thought it was worth proposing.
Edit: What I had in mind was titling each post with basic info like what it is and location, then in the post saying going free, who would pay for shipping, if it needs to be picked up, if you're asking for money in return, what the condition is and any other details, etc. |

i was a member of a paint ball forum for a wile and thay had somthing like this that was many for paint ball stuff it worked realy well im not agenst the idea as a matter of fact i think the idea is realy cool
